The Kings made the move Sunday, a day after Jonathan Quick returned to the lineup. Jones matched Bob Froeses record when he won his first eight NHL starts last month for the Kings, who recalled him from their AHL affiliate in Manchester to back up Ben Scrivens during Quicks 24-game injury absence. Jones still leads the NHL in goals-against average (1.41) and save percentage (.950) after going 8-3 for the Kings. Quick had been sidelined with a serious groin strain since Nov. 12, but returned Saturday in a 3-1 victory over Vancouver. Scrivens also has outstanding statistics, and he remains Quicks backup. According to Cam Tucker of Metro Vancouver, Bruce has filed a lawsuit against each CFL team, commissioner Mark Cohon and CFL Alumni Association executive director Leo Ezerins for allowing him to play despite showing the effects of a concussion he sustained in 2012. The Ottawa Redblacks are included in the suit, listed as "Capital Gridiron Limited Partnership" and "Capital Gridiron GP Inc". The Concussion Blog, an Illinois website, first posted the lawsuit that was filed in B.C. Supreme Court on Wednesday that shows Bruce as the plaintiff. The lawsuit claims that Bruce, who was playing for the B.C. Lions at the time, was knocked unconscious after a hit against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in September 2012. "On November 18, 2012, the plaintiff was permitted to return to play in the CFL West Division Final against the Calgary Stampeders despite still suffering from thhe effects of concussion," stated the claim. When contacted by Metro Vancouver, a spokesperson wrote in an email that the league has not seen the lawsuit and did not provide any comment. The CFL instituted its concussion protocol in 2010 and its the first lawsuit brought against the CFL regarding the issue. Bruce, who was released by the Alouettes prior to this season, is seeking unspecified monetary damages.
