drought, Liverpool has been, perhaps, overly Antworten

Thanks to lefty Chris Salamida, the Winnipeg Goldeyes have won another series. Stanley Morgan Jersey . In Game 2 of a doubleheader (of sorts) in front of 1,390 in Sioux City, Iowa, on Thursday night, Salamida tossed a brilliant three-hit shutout with no walks and six strikeouts to lead the Goldeyes to a 1-0 victory over the Sioux City Explorers. With the win, the Goldeyes won the four-game series in Sioux City, three-games-to-one and will return home to play a three-game weekend series against the Kansas City T-Bones with a record of 45-38. As well, with a rainout between Gary and Wichita, the Goldeyes remained 2 1/2 games back of Gary in the wild card hunt. In the first game on Thursday – the completion of a game suspended by rain on Wednesday night -- the Explorers expanded on a 5-4 pre-rainout lead and whipped the Goldeyes 9-4. "We came out flat in the first game and it carried over a little to the second game," said pitching coach Jamie Vermilyea. "Fortunately we had Salamida, who threw a three-hit shutout. He was great tonight." After three straight victories, the Goldeyes were stopped in their tracks in the suspended game (Game 1) on Thursday, but because of Salamidas brilliance, the Fish took the nightcap and won their eighth series in the last nine. The Goldeyes went 8-2 against Sioux City this season. In Game 2 on Thursday, the Goldeyes scored their only run off Sioux City starter Preston Olsen in the third. Luis Alen singled, went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kevin Moesquit, moved over to third on a single by Fehlandt Lentini and scored on a sacrifice fly by Amos Ramon. Salamida (4-0, 2.48 ERA) was the winning pitcher, while Olsen (1-5, 6.26 ERA) took the loss. Yurendell de Caster went three-for-three and raised his batting average to .400 to lead the Goldeyes at the plate. In Game 1, the Explorers scored two runs in the third, three in the fourth and two more in the fifth and then added two more eighth as they put a halt to the Goldeyes three-game winning streak. The Goldeyes were held to just seven hits. Ryan Scoma had a two-run homer in three trips. Scoma is now hitting .364. Reliever Chris Bodishbaugh (3-1, 1.86 ERA) was the winning pitcher for the Explorers while Pete Gehle (4-7, 5.01 ERA) suffered the loss for Winnipeg. The Goldeyes returned home right after tonights second game and will open a three-game weekend series against the Kansas City T-Bones Friday night at Shaw Park. Matt Rusch (5-3, 4.26 ERA), on short rest, will get the start for the Goldeyes. Patrick Willis Jersey .com) - Novak Djokovic easily took care of Andy Murray to reach the final at the $2. With the European transfer window opening up again on January 1, TSN.ca takes a daily look around the soccer world at the latest rumours and reports heading into what is sure to be another busy period of transactions. Dutch Devil? Manchester United has been attached to Netherlands international midfielder Wesley Sneijder for the better part of the last decade, but The Daily Mail reports that the 30-year-olds move to Old Trafford could finally be in the offing. With his Turkish side Galatasaray struggling with financial issues, Sneijder could be one of the high profile players sold by the Istanbul club as a means to shed debt. The allure of United would be obvious for Sneijder, who would be afforded the chance to again play under his former national manager in Louis van Gaal. The former Real Madrid and Inter man has been with Galatasaray since January 2013 and reports of him being unsettled in Turkey have been numerous over the past two years. United wouldnt be alone in their pursuit of the £9 million-rated Sneijder, though. Southampton, with another manager with whom Sneijder is also familiar in Ronald Koeman, are also reportedly interested in the player with an eye to solidify their run for a European place next season. In 12 league games this season, Sneijder has three goals. Galatasaray sits second in the table, one point behind leaders Besiktas. Got heem? Add Bayern Munich to the list of teams interested in Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling. The 20-year-old England internationals future has come into question as of late with the Reds yet to secure him with a long-term contract extension and reported suitors Real Madrid and Chelsea waiting in the wings. Bild (in German) reports that Pep Guardiolas side views Sterlingg as a Plan B to Borussia Dortmunds Marco Reus. Tai Streets Jersey. The German international reportedly has a £20 million release clause that Bayern intends to meet this summer, but Dortmund would be loath to deal with their German rivals, especially after losing star striker Robert Lewandowski to the Bundesliga champions on a free this past offseason and Mario Goetze the season before. Reus, himself, could refuse a move to Bayern out of loyalty to Dortmund and instead move outside of the Bundesliga with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid having previously shown interest. With Luis Suarezs move to Barcelona, a series of injuries to Daniel Sturridge and Mario Balotellis goal-less drought, Liverpool has been, perhaps, overly reliant on Sterling to produce offence this season, something that the player might be able to use as leverage in any upcoming contract negotiations. Staying Fer Now? Fernando Torres will not be leaving Milan in January. Well, at least Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani doesnt think he will be. I don’t think he will leave, even if the market is unpredictable, Galliani said. Torres has been unlucky. He has struggled with injuries and is coming from a different league. We need to be patient. Currently in the first season of a two-year loan with the 18-time Scudetto winners, the 30-year-old striker has struggled mightily since coming over from Chelsea, where he fell behind Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba in the forward pecking order. Torres has netted just once in 10 appearances for Milan, currently sixth in the Serie A table and 12 points adrift of leaders Juventus. There has been talk in recent days of a return to one of his former clubs in Liverpool or Atletico Madrid. ' ' '
